Saarioinen is Finland's leading private-sector food manufacturer.

The company was established in 1955, and today

has production facilities in six locations

employing more than 2000 people.

The company's headquarters are in Tampere.

Saarioinen manufactures 600 different products

with a total volume of around 60 million kg a year.

Some 70% of this is sold trough retailers and 30%

goes direct to catering establishments such

as restaurants, schools and hospitals.

The Group's parent company, Saarioinen Oy, operates in Tampere.

The main office serves the subsidiaries through sales, marketing, finances,

information technology, purchasing and administration.

Saarioinen Oy employs approximately 158 people.

The sales office for Southern Finland is located in Vantaa, and Saarioinen Oy

also has additional salespeople around Finland. Outside Finland, Saarioinen has

its own sales offices in Sweden and Estonia.

Both bakery and meat products are manufactured at Liha-Saarioinen Oy's

factory in Valkeakoski. The product family includes pizzas, pies, crêpes,

meat products, readymade meat products and sausages.

The factory employs 400 persons on average, and daily production

amounts to approximately 100, 000 kilos.

859 persons, and almost 400,000 readymade meals are made every day.

The Jyväskylä meat processing plant processes about 20 million kilos of

domestic pork and beef annually. In addition to the meat raw material delivered

to the Valkeakoski production facility, the facility production includes different

kinds of meat assortments, consumer-packaged meat, off-the-bone and

other raw meat products, as well as steaks and cutlets of a set size.

The factory employs 267 persons on average, and daily production

amounts to approximately 80, 000 kilos.

The logistics of Saarioinen Group have been centralised to Valkeakoski,

the site of the distribution centre Saarioisten Keskuslähettämö Oy.

The distribution centre began operating in 2003, and employs an average of 124 people.

The business area of Saarioisten Keskuslähettämö Oy is the accumulation of foodstuffs

and other products, the production and sale of delivery services as well as related

business operations. The distribution centre serves the Group's production facilities,

through which all of Saarioinen's fresh products are sent.
